About The Pirate Party of New Zealand
The Pirate Party of New Zealand aims to become a registered and recognised political party within New Zealand.
The party has only a few policies, of which relate to one’s privacy, Internet use, copyright liability and the Government’s accountability and transparency. The policies are centred around Internet freedom, patent reform and copyright reform. More information can be found on the FAQ and Core Policy pages of the PirateWiki.

- Creative Freedom Foundation managed to get the controversial Section 92A to be re-written to be more acceptable and sane, among other things.
- The New Zealand Open Source Society is a key proponent for the recent reform of the patent bill to exclude software from being patentable.
- The ACTA Information Website was set up by a partnership between the organisations listed above as well as InternetNZ and Internet Service Providers Association of New Zealand (ISPANZ).
