Can't say that I'm surprised; open source software is another competitor, and one they can't easily paint as "thieves". Things like this are just more evidence that it's never been about creator's rights; it's about their monopoly, and nothing else.

I agree, another problem is in the enterprise sector where there is huge resistance towards open source (a large portion of which has been created by MS at the other corporations through various means: licensing, advertising, media, trade shows, general schmoozing, etc). Sadly not for profit organisations can't compete against this at the moment, but they've got to come up with with effective ways to gain mind share and push their USP.
