I think we should push for an amendment to the parallel importing act, that states if a copyrighted item is not available for sale in new zealand, it should be considered in the public domain in new zealand.

If you can't buy it here from a local retailler, then it should be considered free.

Or more likely: If it isn't available in NZ, then any directly relevant NZ-registered "intellectual property" is annulled due to irrelevance.

Though perhaps fairness is that the nullification isn't done until after specific date at which the product should be due.
