[Something I wrote ages ago, but never got around to posting]

I'm a rights holder too. Or at least I used to be. Can I please have the following rights back?

The right to purchase content from any legal source and have it work, without artificial restraints such as region coding.

The right to play/view legally purchased content where I want, when I want, on whatever player or device I want, using whatever operating system I want.

The right to make as many 'backup copies' as I feel are necessary to protect my investment.

The right to resell something I bought when I no longer want it.
