And they did include the part where I refer to the 'electorate vote' as the 'FPP vote' -- this is my dyslexia in action, folks..

And they left out all the discussion about web filtering and other issues, but that's probably OK because I think I messed that up quite badly too.

Looks good to me. I think you made a decent argument for the PPNZ position on copyright, which people otherwise wouldn't have heard.

It's a lot better than how you were talking about it straight afterwards. If the FPP thing is the worst that's in there, you're doing pretty well.

You can tell that they weren't prepared answers and you were looking for the right words (as happens to everyone), but the points you made were good, and you looked human and respectable etc.

I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't use more of the material though, there was some discussion about how we're only looking to legalise non-commercial sharing and draw the line at 'selling Sione's Wedding out of car boots' for example. And how the MAFIAA are always against new technology, the 'Boston strangler' quote from Valenti etc.

I was thinking about that quote a bit more while I was delivering pamphlets yesterday because in the submissions supporting the new copyright law are dominated by hundreds of 'cookie cutter' letters from almost every video rental place in the country. The irony is that if the movie industry had their way in 1982 there never would have been a VCR or a home video market at all.
