I think It would be good to make a variation of that add you alwalys see in the movies 'you wouldn't steal a car, you wouldn't steal a movie' ect. but explain how copying is different from stealing (ie once you copy something the original owner can still use it, but if you steal a car the owner can no longer use it). I think this would go well in the back of the mother explain to her child that copying it wrong choice. Sort of a stop, wait a sec, this is how copying and this is how stealing works. (teaching the child)

sounds a lot like this one: "You wouldn't steal a car. That's because you know there's a difference between copying and theft". wouldn't be bad to refine the idea and fill in the details though.

even better if we can tie together the meanings of "copying" and "sharing", seeing as in this context, they are the same thing. (but that's already included in "sharing is bad")

This one is a little complex so bear with me.

We take a shot of an old music store, with CDs falling off the racks, cobwebs and dust all over and a lonely shopkeeper at the till and nobody else. The sign on the store reads "Big Media Mega Music".

We start off with a voice-over that says, "Overseas Big Media companies are loosing your business and they want it back."

Cut to scenes of people using, enjoying, and benefiting from the internet. A scene of an adult searching for a job at the library. A scene of a student looking up an article on Wikipedia from school, a scene of a businessman reading a New Zealand Herald article on his laptop at a cafe.

Voiceover: "Their old business model is failing because of the internet and they want to take the internet away from you in order to get your business back in their stores."

Cut back to above scenes, but fade out the computers (and internet) from them.

"Do we really want to give up our culture, our technology, our internet for Overseas Media Corporations?"

Cut back to opening shot of "Big Media Mega Music", sign flickers, one of the letters in the sign falls to a slant and part of the sign goes out with smoke coming from it. Attendant at the counter ignores it and continues to just sit there, very bored looking.

Our logo and website address come up, with a ticked box next to the logo.

"Vote for the Pirate Party of New Zealand and stop the Overseas Big Media from taking over our lives."
