Moin Moin as we greet each other here in North Germany. I am one of those omnipresent Kiwi expats you find everywhere in the world and live in Lower Saxony near the city of Bremen. I am a New Zealand citizen and have not adopted German citizenship despite having lived here for 20 years but due to the way German law works and the openness of the Piratenpartei I am able to join and participate in all aspects of political activity in the party except for voting in elections.
At the moment we are busy creating a local chapter in our administrative/electoral district of Osterholz. I intend to keep you up to date on how we are getting on.
At the moment we are discussing and formulating our local structure and by-laws. Much is stipulated by federal law and the ability to introduce structures like liquid feedback restricted but we are doing what we can. Also we have chosen a direct candidate for the state wide elections to be held in January next year. We will have to hit the ground running to be able to wage an effective campaign before that.
If anyone has any questions on the pirates in Germany or Europe I will be glad to do my best to answer.
Tschüß Andrew
